Tele Atlas
Tele Atlas, founded in the Netherlands in 1984, is a global provider of digital
maps and dynamic location content. With the acquisition of Geographic
Data Technology (GDT) in 2004, the size and variety of content available
in the Tele Atlas database have dramatically increased. Updated by an
experienced field collection and validation force on a continual basis,
the spatial database includes information on streets, addresses, airports,
roadways, rail facilities, dirt roads, landmarks, points of interest,
bodies of water, and more.
Tele Atlas supports the maintenance and protection of our nation’s
critical infrastructure, serving more federal, state, and local government
agencies than any other commercial street database provider. Telecommunications,
utility, wireless, Internet, and fleet and logistics providers also count
on Tele Atlas data for routing, geocoding, and map display.
Through ArcWeb Services, users can access Tele Atlas street data for
Europe, Canada, and the United States for a variety of applications including
routing, address geocoding, and spatial queries as well as for creating
dynamic maps and geographic analysis. The Tele Atlas street data is based
on the Dynamap 2000 product. The name changed following the acquisition
of GDT by Tele Atlas.
